Vacuum Casting
Vacuum casting/Urethane casting is a prototype plastic moulding process that is used to manufacture plastic parts for small production runs.
The mould is made out of Urethane (a type of silicone) using a 3D printed part. The manufacturing is performed by vacuum suction of molten plastic into the mould casting and the process can be repeated until the required quantity is manufactured. It can manufacture insert moulded, over moulded and injection moulded intricate parts for low production runs.
